Why the Redline?

Embracing Natural Beauty

When I saw this piece of wood while building this coffee table, my instinct was to replace it with a “better” piece. I had to remind myself why I started Redline Design in the first place. So instead of hiding or replacing the piece, I put it front and center in my table and ran the redline right through it to highlight the intention.

When I saw Padauk wood for the first time, I was surprised by its bright red colours. I couldn’t believe something natural could be this colourful. I bought a piece even though I had no use for it at the moment. Later, I ended up using a line of it in one of my pieces—and that’s how Redline Design Collective was born. I thought, wouldn’t it be great if I used a natural wood to represent my brand and didn’t need unnecessary packaging and branding materials that contribute to harming the environment?

I’ve always been passionate about corporate and business responsibility toward sustainability and the environment. I believe that if you want to benefit from the environment you operate in, it’s your obligation to act responsibly and protect both the people and the environment. We need to increase the level of accountability when it comes to health and the environment. It is not okay to push useless products, packaging, and marketing onto consumers just for the sake of profits—and profits alone.

The Redline Design Collective principles are:
Only natural solid wood and natural materials
Never paint or stain wood to alter or hide its natural colours
Always handmade, never mass-produced
Prioritize local markets
One redline in every piece as a reminder of these values

Where Passion for Art and Design Come to Life

Redline Design Collective was born from a desire to create timeless, meaningful furniture. It all began with a single piece—a minimalist design featuring a striking red line that became our signature. That red line is more than an accent; it symbolizes the essence of our work: bold, intentional, and timeless.

At Redline Design, we strive to push the boundaries of furniture design, blending beauty, sustainability, and craftsmanship to create pieces that stand the test of time. Our commitment to quality and respect for natural materials drive everything we do, ensuring that each creation is as enduring as it is beautiful.

We believe in the responsibility of businesses to serve the communities they touch. Redline Designs is committed to sustainability, supporting local artisans, and giving back to the communities we call home.

Join us in celebrating artistry and sustainability. Together, we can create a brighter, more beautiful future.
